Crank, no start, freshly built engine
I got my engine dropped in and at first I would get no crank but have dash lights and radio. Charged my battery and now the engine is cranking but wont start. First of all im nervous as **** I built the engine wrong because this is my first time, but its to early to tell if theres something wrong with that.
Tomorrow I am going to check for spark at the plugs and work backwards from there. I set my timing right I think ( cylinder one at TDC, "up" on the cams facing upward) but I realized the distributor has to do with timing as well. I just bolted that thing on the only way it would go and tightened the bolts where the previous tightening marks were left. So how can I tell if my distributor is off?
I've narrowed the issue down to ignition or spark because I know I have fuel pressure, I can hear and feel the pump prime.
I am very limited on tools in the sense of a spark plug tester and a multimeter.
Please help me get this running! Thanks for any help its much appreciated

Pretty easy to verify timing.
Most Hondas have two timing marks. TDC and Base timing.
Rotate the crank to TDC, verify the cam(s) are also at TDC or 'UP'.
Then rotate the crank so that the pointer is now on the base timing mark.
Mark the center of the #1 spark plug tower on the distributor. Make sure the rotor is pointing to the center of where #1 spark plug tower would be, via the mark you made.
If both are correct then the mechanical timing of both is correct.
Next would be to verify Fuel and Spark.
