civic wont rev past 3000????
(i dont want to go b series or run vtec i just wanna get this car running good for a point a and b car)
started with a eg coupe with a d16z6 that threw a rod and a friend of mine had a auto eg engine for sale for $75 decided to go the cheapest way possible and just swap transmitions,
in my e.g. now i have a p28 ecu with a sohc non block and head that was automatic before i also used the z6 throttle body
my problem
car starts fine
idles perfect
everything sounds and looks good until the rpms hit 3000 then it redlines or sounds like it has a governor?
im thinking its the ecu and running on limp mode ive seen many threads with the same problem but no solutions. i can drive it fine as long as i shift before 3k....could it be the auto iacv?
i was also thinking maybe vtec engines have differnt oil pathways then non vtec that the p28 ecu isnt reading right?
any help would be appreciated thanks

a little more history>>>
before i swapped engines the old one was knocking but still ran fine, with that said i can rule out clogged cat or fuel lines the donor engine also ran fine before i pulled it
