Chugging/Stalling feeling when accelerating
Hello,
I have a 1988 Honda accord lx 5 speed - carbureted D series B18 motor. The car feels like it is chugging or bogging down when accelerating. I push the gas all the way to the floor and the car is still bogging/chugging. I have had to put it in neutral rev it and then put it in gear. The idle goes below 1000 and then jumps up to normal on its own. I recently replaced Cap, rotor, wires and spark plugs and put in a cold air intake. Is there something I need to reset? Any ideas or suggestions out there? Thanks in advance!

Re: Chugging/Stalling feeling when accelerating
i had the same problem with my car and mine was a cracked head. i wouldnt just assume thats your problem tho. are you loosing antifreeze at all? does the car run fine when its cold but run like **** as soon as it warms up? you could also try checking your fuel pressure. could possibly be the fuel pump or the fuel filter. with my car it ran really bad when the car was warm. when it was cold the car ran great. eventually i started loosing antifreeze and then soon my head gasket was gone. i ended up just putting a new motor in it and i was good to go. hope this helped you out somehow.
