Do you realize the original post was from way back in 03... could be the reason there are some mistakes.

Hey all, ive been a long time lurker and benefiter of the information on this site. Recently I've been having huge issues with the BC0013, so set about buying some new cams, but wanted to be able to make some sort of comparison (i know the below numbers cant visualize ramp rate and such) but as an indicator and to keep this great sticky current please see below some modern day cams at 1mm. If an admin wants to move these specs to the front page my all means please do.

The Below are all measured at 1mm and are straight from the manufacturers mouth.

Skunk2 Tuner Series Stage 1
Int-251 dur. / 11.5mm lift
Exh-235 dur. / 10.5mm lift

Skunk2 Tuner Series Stage 2
Int-264 dur. / 12.2mm lift
Exh-266 dur. / 11.8mm lift

Skunk2 Pro Series 1+
Int-258 dur. / 12.6mm lift
Exh-260 dur. / 11.9mm lift

Skunk 2 Pro Series 2+
Int-261 dur. / 12.6mm lift
Exh-272 dur. / 11.6mm lift

Brian Crower Stage 3 (BC0013)
Int-268 dur. / 12.6mm lift
Exh-260 dur. / 12.6mm lift

I guess you guys don't understand the difference between "advertised specs" and actual duration based on opening and closing events of the valves.

I don't even know why I ******* waste my time here anymore.

So i have a b20 high comp block that in going to be putting my b16 head on that has itr cams should i upgrade my springs and retainers to gsr. I see people saying gsr and itr are identical in this aspect but what about the springs from the b16 head?

GSR and ITR springs are most definitely NOT identical.

What your dumb friends are talking about, is that GSRs have a dual valve spring on the intake side. (ITRs have dual valve springs on both sides) Even so, they are not the same spring.

Just find some ITR springs, they're cheap.

How do you measure the lift?

i have a set of cams and I don’t know what they are. It came out of a B16 head. I came up with a lift of 6.2 for intake Vtec center lobe.

They dont look worn out

At the valve. Your not taking into account the rocker ratio.

I know this is a bit old, but for clarification purposes and to help anyone who looks at this thread in the future: ITR EXHAUST inner and outer valve springs are the SAME part number as the GSR INTAKE inner and outer valve springs. ITR Intake inner and outer valve springs are unique to the ITR head and the GSR Exhaust valve springs are a single outer spring... no inner spring.

Basically, if you have a GSR head and want to install Type R springs and cams, you move your GSR Intake inner and outer springs over to the exhaust side (discarding the exhaust single springs) and buy a set of ITR Intake inner and outer springs and install them on the Intake side. Drop in the cams, set your valve lash and drive.

2LEM1, you did an incredible amount of work to compile all of that information and I, as well as many others in this community, appreciate your effort and willingness to share it.

The VTEC rocker ratio on a "B" series is 1.55:1. You have to multiply your measurement by the rocker ratio to get the lift at the valve. You are measuring at the lobe essentially... not what you will see advertised by most cam manufacturers.

As an example, look here: http://briancrower.com/makes/honda/b16ab18c.shtml

As an example, look here: BrianCrower.com | RunBC.com // Honda // B16A / B18C

5.6 X 1.55 = 8.68
THIS LOOKS LOWER THAN STOCK. THEY TURBO CAMS THEN?

Dude alot of those are way wrong. Today VTEC killer cams are 285.295, or 305. And the b series type r b18 has smaller Intake valves than the b16b type r. They're not the same.
