1999 Civic Si - CEL P1362
After an 800 mile road trip I threw a CEL and scanned the code as P1362 manufacturer controlled ignition / missfire. I never heard any misfiring, but I've been having a somewhat low idle. I ordered a new distributor cap, external coil, plugs and wires. Should this solve the issue? I'm thinking the idle may be the TPS or IACV but I'm not throwing codes for those. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for helping me out on my first post here.

Re: 1999 Civic Si - CEL P1362 (Black99EM1)
forgot to mention that since the CEL has been on, my car only hits VTEC sometimes. My oil pressure is good and I'm topped off with full synthetic. I'm guessing the ECU is just watching out for my motor while it thinks it's missfiring? I'm hoping that VTEC will be kicking in hard once again after this CEL is taken care of

Re: 1999 Civic Si - CEL P1362 (Black99EM1)
guess ill answer my own question.. if anyone has a p1362 manufacturer controlled ignition or missfire.. i did this and it worked for my 99 si. change your plugs, wires, distributor cap and check your fuel mixture screw on the throttle body, big screw facing passenger side.. if your car is running too rich it will missfire. mine did it when starting, hardly noticeable. anyways im glad to have vtec back and the CEL gone
