***How to install rod bearings main cap bearings and all the good stuff***
I just spun a rod in my built motor i took the crank out and i'm going to put a new one in up to specs with all the correct sized bearings for the rods main cap and everthing and was wondering is there a certain procedure to installing the bearings thanx guys this is my 4th try with my turboed motor

well there are many things u have to do in order to assure that ur bearings have the correct oil clearance

when u install make sure the back of the bearings are clean and dry and on the contact face of the bearing on the front, make sure u use enough assembly lube
(of any oil or dirt) before placing them.

90% of the time, a spun rod bearing is due to improperly torqued rod bolts. Did you use a stretch gauge?

i'm planning on buying a new crank and stock spec rod main cap bearings but this happened while my car was getting tuned , yeah i didn't put my motor together a machine shop did so i have to find out what exactly happened in terms of torqueing them down and the use of a plastigauge
