Suspension Gods answer me this
What is the point of a subframe brace, and a rear lower tie bar. I understand the tie bar may do one thing, and the subframe brace obviously braces the subframe, but together the tie bar seems useless. A subframe brace seems to do both the bracing.
So what is the technical functional use of both pieces? I assume the tie bar doesn't do anything but I've had friends who beg to differ.

The answer is just what you thought: POINTLESS!!!!!!!! The ASR brace also acts as a tie bar due to it's size and shape, since it obviously ties both LCA pickup points together, in addition to providing a nice, flat spot for the sway bar D-brackets and reinforcing the subframe.
People who put both bars on there do it for looks, period. They either like the way it looks, or they saw someone else do it and like the way it looks. It DOES NOT provide any additional bracing.
In reality, running both bars costs more, weighs more, and reduces ground clearance, with no real benefits whatsoever.

Setup above is more appealing than a lot of other setups, but I don't like most tie bars. If anything a decent subframe brace, but that's it. Thanks though

hmm not sure what setup that is pictured with the scraped up bar, but it's not the same as the first pic. In that last pic the tie bar looks nearly even with the ASR brace's lower edge. With the Beaks tie bar in the first pic, it hangs MUCH lower than the ASR brace.
Whatever the car scraped, if there had been a Beaks tie bar there, it could have very well broken the tie bar, which could have caused subframe damage when it happened. This is exactly why you should NOT use a Beaks tie bar in addition to the ASR brace.
