Soft brake pedal feel
So i changed my brakes like a few weeks ago on my 98 civic ex, i had put brembo blanks and axxis deluxe pads on. bleed out all the old brake fluid. Now at the time the pedal felt nice and firm.
it's been about a month and the pedal seems to go down kinda far when you apply the brakes even if you keep leting off them pressing them again, which i thought was suppose to build up a harder brake pedal. I mean they brake good but the pedal just feels super soft.
So what could be causing this issue with my brakes?

Re: Soft brake pedal feel
Probably needs to be bled again. Check the shop manual for the correct sequence. I forgot to bleed my rear brakes once and had no pedal until I realized that.

Re: Soft brake pedal feel
dont have a book to check it out, i thought it was the drivers rear first then like the passenger side front then passenger rear and drive front does that sound right?

Re: Soft brake pedal feel
This is how I did my brakes, as i was told by people on here
right rear, left front, left rear, right front
in think your wrong you always bleed the brake that is clostest to the master cylinder last which would be the drive front and not the passenger front

For those of you with a soggy brake pedal after caliper installation, here is the CORRECT bleeding sequence:
Bleed the brakes Right Rear, Left Front, Left Rear, Right Front. You do not go farthest to closest with Hondas.
Always bench bleed the Master cylinder when replacing the master cylinder, ABS unit, or proportioning valve.

the way i have always done them is RR then LR then move up and do RF then do the LF last. you always wanna start farthest away from the master cyl and end with the closest to it.
but i would say thats all you need is to re-bleed them and everything should feel solid again.

Re: Soft brake pedal feel
check your master cylinder or your calipers/wheel cylinders...make sure its not leaking that would cause a soft sinking pedal.

Re: Soft brake pedal feel
Can someone give me the order using passenger rear, driver front just so i can make sure we did it right. Also when i installed the brakes i didnt use any sort of anti sqweak lube and when i let off the brake they sqweak a good amount, im not sure if its the piston in the caliper or the brake pads them self.
What is that lube stuff your suppose to use when instaling the brakes? Im going to try to find it tmrw when i get a oil filter.

Re: Soft brake pedal feel
The proportioning valve on my 93 Civic LX started leaking so I replaced it with one from the junkyard. I bled and bled and bled. Still a sense of soft pedal feel.
Started checking and my original valve on my 93 Civic LX was a 3040. One from the junkyard from a 92-25 DX hatch was 3030.
Why does the 93 LX carry a 3040?
Also, I started checking on Hondapartsnow.com and I noticed that....get this...92-95 DX LX Automatic is listed as
46210-SR3-013
BUT Get this Manual Transmission is 46210-SR3-962.
What possibly could be the difference between these two parts?
My only clue is the service recommendation for pedal height. 92-95 Civic and Del Sol Automatic is 6.5 Inches. 92-25 Civic and Del Sol Manual is 6.3 inches.

Re: Soft brake pedal feel
anti squeal-lube stuff, bleed brakes again then look at master cylinder, but if it is braking good, I would leave it alone. The difference in the feel could be the pad contruction
