Neuspeed and Accel have teamed up to create the Neuspeed Thundersport Ignition kit for most late model Acura and Honda vehicles. You can convert your Honda or Accura inductively charged, internal coil ignition to a multistrike, capacitive discharge, external coil system using the Neuspeed Thundersport kit. The factory ignition coil is totally unsuitable for highly-modified engines, such as turbocharged, supercharged or nitrous oxide equipped cars. The combustion pressure in the cylinder is dramatically higher than on a stock engine. This means there is increased resistance at the spark plug gap. The stock coil’s low voltage and single strike firing can’t insure a consistent burn, especially at higher RPMs. The Neuspeed Thundersport Ignition kit outputs 535 volts to create 1500 mj (millijoule) of multistrike firing per cycle, with a spark duration that lasts through 22.5 degrees of crank shaft
revolution. This means the Thundersport kit will overcome the higher resistance in the cylinder and create a faster, hotter and longer lasting ignition flame kernel for a more complete burn of the air/fuel mixture. This translates to a smoother power delivery, quicker acceleration and improved power. The Neuspeed Thundersport Ignition kit includes an external coil, an ignition module with built in rev-limit adjuster (up to 12,000 rpm,) distributor cap, coil wire and wiring harness. The complete package mounts easily in the engine compartment with simple hand tools.
