just an FYI, i just shipped a Z6 longblock and with the block, head, and flywheel, (no manifolds, alternator, distributor, etc.) it weighed in at 180lbs.
anything over 150lbs. and you are looking at freight shipping which is where it gets expensive (about $290 was the cheapest i found thru UPS freight)
but, if you talk the buyer into having the head and block shipped separately, then you can save a lot. i was able to ship the head and block separately for about $90 thru FedEx. i tossed in a new head gasket for the buyer and all was good.

DSD, thanks for the info dude. Buyer pays shipping this time! I don't think i'll split this up for many reasons, but the main is the headgasket is a pretty penny apexi piece 150+ (necessary for the setup), coupled with the head bolts, fresh oil, etc...it's worth it to just pay the extra to ship it whole. again, i'd rather NOT ship it though ; )

Re: (builthatch)
guys, i've found out more info about shipping. I've had an inquiry about the setup and have lined up a very reliable shipping outfit. shipping to Wisonsin would be 165-195 depending on the arrangement at the destination. For someplace further, i'm sure it'll be more but not that much i can imagine.
so, bottom line is, i'm prepared to make shipping available for this thing if someone is interested that isn't local.

Re: FS- built NA d16y8 w/ all the goodies (builthatch)
ok here's the pics of the removed engine, header and FC. the ports and open orifices are taped off. the brown line on the header near the collector is inner cv grease that burned. as mentioned above, it does not have a TB on it. I can arrange for a 60mm GSR TB.
keep in mind with this setup, i'd recommend changing the water pump and tbelt as they have 60k on them, the thermostat should probably be changed and it will need a cap and rotor. the distributor was formerly configured to run an external coil and msd setup, so if you don't run an external coil, you'll need an internal coil and wire it accordingly within the distributor. it's not rocket science, i know, but i'm being upfront about what it needs so add'l costs can be factored when considering this setup. i did not clean the engine after removal so if you are bent on having a shiny engine, this is not the one for you lol. it could use a steam clean or something similar, but it's not horrendous...
last shot of the engine before i removed it...

thanks dude.
looks like i'm going to part this out since heads are not stepping up! damn shame because as a unit it's a solid deal and nice setup.

ok, no shipping to canada. it's too hard to find someone who will ship AND take care of customs stuff. if you know a broker, fine, but otherwise forget about it.
