DC2 Rear Crossbar Project
I have had this project sitting idle for about 4 years. My car has gone in a different direction and I have accepted that I will not finish this project. This is the makings of a custom rear cross bar for a DC2, similar to the NEXT brand cross bars that were being sold 4-5 years ago. The upper clevis' thread into the rear upper seat belt locations and eliminate the seat belts. The lower shock tower mounting locations I had planned to weld to a password jdm shock tower bar (not included). The tubing is 6061 1.125" OD x .120" wall thickness. I machined the rod ends myself out of 6061 and had them welded to the tubing. The welding is top notch quality but the tubing has gotten a little scratched up over the years, it could use a wet sand and polish for a show quality appearance. I also machined the clevis' myself from 6061 on a manual mill and lathe. They were each machined from a solid block and feature recessed socket head cap screws, mounting spacers, and fit the heim joints perfectly. These are the nicest parts I have ever machined, both are identical, excellent fit and finish. I had a fair amount of machining time in these.
My car has become a serious track car and will not benefit from this X bar. With a little elbow grease and fab work this could be a really nice custom part for a show car.
Asking $150. Thanks.
