Default Traction Bars and their Benefits for Road Racing/Autocross

I wanted to find out everyone's opinion on these. I get horrible wheel hop at the track (drag) so I'd like to pick up a set, but since I'll pretty much only want them for one or two trips to the track, I'd like to see if they have any real benefit to rr/auto-x to justify their $350 cost. I'm not worried about classing as most everything I'll do is HPDE.

Thanks.

EDIT: By the way, I read all of these threads already:

Nothing really concrete. Everyone is talking about another thread out there that I can't find. So I was hoping to start up a new discussion.

the problem is they aren't legal for the majority of the classes out there. since the majority of the people in here ARE concerned about classing, either now or in the near future, most have not tried any traction bars. you might have more luck asking in the suspension forum or the drag racing forum.

The only two benifits I see are ability to adjust castor, and some slight increase in chassis regiditty.

However, if the bars bind (like some have noticed) they pretty much become more harm than good.

the only version I've liked so far are those from competion engineering which are adjustable for ride height as well.

Since they are alot like the radius rods in the old da you'll get the same benefits such as greatly reduced wheel hop and added suspension rigidity as well as a major brace at the tips of the front frame rails which should greatly improve overall chasis rigidity and turn in and braking

but like I said I would look into the competioing engineering versions through moroso

That picture shows the radius rods located close to the outer mount points, very close to the tires, which limits how much you are able to turn your wheels. Not a good thing for track driving. That appears to be a drag race only setup.

Some other brands locate the pivot points further inboard, and are supposed to allow full range of suspension movement without binding (like the stock ED/EF and DA radius arms). That would be my biggest concern when looking at one of these products.
