When I did my thread on this I used koyo bearings and repacked them with amsoil 2000 high temp racing grease.

an oem grease is a compromise between warm temps, cold temps, and low friction (this is more from the seals & design tho). I might be able to ask one of the bearings guys at work what type of grease is used. It's typically not a synthetic, however I'm not sure that it would be a problem to mix.
