Recommendations on replacement axles for autocrossing
Need to replace axles on 89 civic si used mainly for autocrossing. Are oem axles strong enough or should I look for performance axles?

Get NEW ones from Napa if they sell them. I've been using NAPA axles on my turbo pig Integra and haven't had any problems with them. They're much cheaper than OEM too.
Napa also sell reman's, not sure about the quality of those. Probably good enough for autox.

I have been using Raxels for the last 3 years on my race car . NO PROBLEMS yet! . well worth the money.
The Grand Auto ones I tried before I got the Raxels did not even make one day at the track!

Re: (Jack Black)
Car was fine when I left track yesterday but developed severe vibration shortly thereafter. I think that elevation change in the second sweeper after the first slolom was the culprit.

Raxles are great, and so is their customer service.

Holy Crap, Glen! I just saw the overall results. You were less than 0.5 behind Darrin and you beat him in PAX. Nice work!

Thanks! Those new Azenis really made a difference. I think the track conditions made having compound tires a disadvantage. Turns out it was loose lug nuts on front right causing vibration. Sure felt like the axle though.

I used to run with ER on occasion down in SFL while I was at school 2 years ago... usually went out to Ft. Myers for GCAC events since the post-metrozoo days were a little rough at the small lot at Hialeah dog track.

I started running with them last year. From what I hear, things are much better organized now than they were a few years ago. We still use the little lot at Hialeah pretty frequently; it isn't too bad, but it does limit what you can do with course design. We tried one of the larger Hialeah lots last weekend and it was definitely an experience. The pavement was so dirty and busted up, every run was a guessing game of where's-the-grip. We also run in the one paved lot at Homestead Miami Speedway, which allows for more open course designs.
