Question about axles...
I am about to show my ignorance here but... on my race car there is constantly a line of grease mostly on the driver's side of the car and the bottom of the alternator. Eventually the damn things have to run out of grease. Can I just pull the axles and repack them with grease or should I replace them? Is there any way to prevent them from spewing out all of their grease or is this just a "feature" of FWD cars? I know my old Prelude and current CRX do the same damn thing.
Thanks,
Chris

There might be greases out there that have a much lower thermal expansion than the grease that's in there now. Could just be a figment of my imagination but I thought the Mugen and Redline CV greases were both much less likely to "squirt" than the factory Honda stuff.

It's a messy job to repack them so I''m usually inclined to just replace the whole thing as an axle assembly.
Sounds like you've got old boots and pinhole leaks? Or, the clamps on either end of the affected boot(s) have given up?
The high end axles the drag guys use seem to use urethane boots that I'm sure are more robust than the factory rubber. Might be worth pursuing...

Re: (MichaelJComputer)
i have replaced an outer boot once in my life and i will never ever do again. not when they are so cheap at autozone and have a lifetime warranty.
