Along this line, anyone used the Flexlight lexan kits? less that $1k for a full set of glass replacement (DC2), and supposedly a drop in replacement.

We have used Threadserts, Rivets as well as DZUS 1500 Series sliding latches for attaching lexan. It is really nice having removable windows. I prefer the DZUS sliding latches.

I recommend putting weather stripping on the car so that it seals well.

anybody got a link for this Flexalite Kit? And what makes it heavier than say just buying lexan and making your own kit? I like countersunk allen head or button head screw with nylon lock nuts. Do you take your windows out that much Rotten that them being removable is worth the extra effort and money for Dzus fastners?

also did your tint not ever bubble on you i have read that you can't tint lexan cause it realeses a gas and will bubble up under regular window tint?

FAL kits are not heavy... I dont know where that came from. There maybe liter options, as you can use thinner material, but when compared to OEM glass there is no comparrison. One of the best dollar to value ratio's. and a back half should only be in the $400 range(obviously home made is cheaper)

I used PTEG, its a vacuformable plastic. I obtained a 1/8" sheet for $78. Made my own templates and cut it with a hand held jig saw. During installation I took a heat gun to it where the fitment wasn't perfect. The sides came out great but the rear has a couple of dimples. I didn't have a rear window to take a template off of, with one it could have been perfect.
Best part is that if it gets scratched all I need to do is heat it with the heat gun and it will seal up again.
I haven't tried it on the track yet (still need to get an ECU and tune) so well see if my theory holds.
