H2b civic road racing
Hi I'm changing my setup this winter. I would like to get some advice on what spring rates to go with.
The setup will be a 93 civic Si hatchback with a H2b swap running itr sway bars front and rear I'm going to be using a ground control/koni setup. The car is a track only vehicle.
My question is what spring rates should I use?

Re: H2b civic road racing (93SIRII)
No recommendations on spring rates. However I'd recommend a smaller front sway bar. The ITR front is 24mm... I think the jdm bar is 25mm. If you are going to run a front, stick with the eg front which I believe is 21mm.

Re: H2b civic road racing (kommon_sense)
The OTS konis are rumored to only handle up to 600lb springs.
That being said....450front 600rear
otherwise I know that the real racer guys usually run much higher rates on revalved konis.
600 to 1000 front and 800 to 1300 rear

Re: H2b civic road racing (Crazydave)
The only guys I know who were using the H2B configuration in a track car were the Curpier brothers. I think I remember them having higher than normal front rates, because of the weird weight distribution (more towards the front). I could be remembering that wrong though, as it's been at least a year or two.
Whatever the case, on OTS Konis, there's only so much you can get away with, to the point that your engine choice won't really matter.

I would call Koni, let them suggest a rate (800-ish front, 1200-ish rear, like was already said) and then get your shocks revalved to match that. And, shortened.
You might copy this guy (800f/1200r), his car is quick. Or rather, just buy his car.

Because it's still a front wheel drive car
You want as much weight on the inside front while you're coming out of a corner. You don't want a front bar trying to lift it. Let the rear try to keep the car flat.

ok it looks like it will be a ls vtec car instead of H2b due to rule changes in my class. Could I get some advice on what spring rates to use with the b series motor in the EG with ITR bars front and rear. What do you recommend for rates and bars?

Re: (93SIRII)
make sure you keep an eye on your oil pressure... wtih my qsd kit i had to run around 6.5 quarts to keep it from starving around corners, ill be building a custom pan when it goes back together.
