Default Experience or opinions of pre-fabricated weld-in cages?

The car is in question is a hardtop-equipped S2000 prepared for SCCA STU.

I am trying to get more info on the weld-in cages offered by autopower, and possibly Kirk Racing if it turns out they have an S2000 application.

the picture on the autopower website is obviously not specific to the S2000, but it seems legit...

I can see wanting to add to it, but does anyone have any experience with the fitment & quality of weld-in cages that are prefabbed?

And is there really any money and time savings in going that route?

I'm sure this has come up previously, sorry, but I didn't see much in the sticky'ed cage post at the top

I suggest you find a caged s2000 and sit in it with helmet on. It's REALLY tight. I am 6' 1" , 195lbs. I have an s2000 I tracked for a year and when I was ready to cage if for racing, I found out it wouldn't work for me. I called up cage builders in my region and asked about s2000 and the owners. I found the cars and sat in a couple and for me, the top of windshield bar and top of drivers window Bar forced me into a heavy lean that was not possible. I have heard of shops cutting the floor and lowering the seat but I know nothing about it. If you don't have my size limitations, then good luck and please post your project.
