Bring "Parts Car" To Race!
To ensure you have every part you need, and that a little $2 part does not keep you from competing, bring an entire "Parts Car" to the Race.

If they had an issue, the crew could point to a part, and say, "bring me one of these." A go-fer could run to the parts car, remove the hardware with fingers, and then run back to the race car with the part.
I am still in awe of what they could do, with lots of practice: that same Ford team changed an engine in 45 minutes; a big Camaro team replaced a rear end housing in the pits, in both cars. The first took 4 minutes, 30 seconds. The second one took under 4 minutes; when the then-new Firebird came out, the teams were changine complete front uprights in a pit stop to change brakes - caliper, brake hose, wheel bearing and rotor, all in one go!
