Re: bars.. (Catch 22)
Nope - you're thinking of Ray's Gender Bender in Tallahassee. You were nuts in that frog suit! You'd think those Marines had never heard the word "cloaca" before! I've never laughed so hard as when the SPCA showed up...

Re: bars.. (georgedc2r)
Add more rigidity to your vehicle's fender/frame area with these reinforcement bars by J's Racing.
Applications for most EG/EK/EP/DC2+5 avail. $250.00
If you're really concerned about the rigidity of your fenders (?) I can't see how they would hurt on the street...But I'd think you could find a better use for $250.00, not to mention the time it'd take to install these things.
BTW, they would probably not be legal in most autox or road racing classes.

They are not made to stiffen the fenders.

Are the areas under the fenders checked during a post race tear down?

Are camshafts checked during MOST post race tear downs? It doesn't matter if it is checked, illegal is illegal. Check your rules. If it doesn't say you can, you can't! (unless you rally. those guys are nuts.)

"Add more rigidity to your vehicle's fender/frame area... " This is the vendor's copy, not mine. Considering that the area around the firewall/front door pillars is one of the strongest points in a unibody anyway, looks like it's just bracing the fenders.

If someone who beat me was running these things, and I knew it, I'd be glad to post the protest bond and have him tear down his front clip.

Re: (georgedc2r)
these are completely streetable. they do offer a noticable a difference.
there's no way to know they are installed when looking at the car aside from a little bump in the fender area where it pushes out the splash guard a little (okay, a good bit).
I haven't driven on a set yet, but a buddy has them and likes them. I've also spied them on many Japanese race DC2's and hatches.
If you have the money you might try them and see how you like them.

a roll cage that ties to the strut towers seems like it would be a much better improvement that those flimsy things. Someone send me a set, i'll try them and do a write up.

Re: bars.. (Geezer)
there was definately a topic about these a good while ago. maybe last year(?). they go behind the fender and attach to the car. they have nothing to do with fenders. they stiffen the front end of the car supposedly. my work computer hates the search, but ill try to find the old thread when i get home.
