b18c 2.0 setup

b18c 2.0 setup
Hi guys
I think about doing a b18c 2.0 setup for amateur racing
As of now im in the 1.6 class having b16a2 with a stock block and tunned head: fully polished, brian crower stage2 cams, supertech springs and retainers, TWM 52'ITB all tuned on AEM, also a Toda-style 4-2-1
It works with a Mfactory gearbox (5.16 final +short 3,4,5) with a plate Mugen LSD
I know that a stock block does not fit the equation as it produces too litt compression and I cannot rev rly high. But Im looking forward to move to 2000(n/a) class in 2015 and thought about merging the head with b18c block, sleeve it with darton sleeves and bore to 2.0 and use forged internals.
That you guys think? Would love to learn an experience of some1 who has already done that!
3 things to note:
1. Im in Poland and will buy block and do the tuning here but since European tuning market is a $#%#$ I need to import internals from US anyway
2. no, I wont swap to K, Im too much invested in B not to mention everything for K is more expensive
3. yes, I know B20vtec is cheap but it just wont cut it
thanks for remarks

Yes, sleeving the b18c has been done many times and is a very popular combo. Starting with an 84mm bore would probably be a good choice if there is any rebuilds needed in the future. For sleeves I would recommend either benson or ERL. For a few extra cc's you can get a 89mm crank and get rods to go along with it.

89mm stroke and the r/s ratio of using that setup will not limit your revs. I have been using this combo for over ten years and will go 8-9k all day. It's extremely common in the US

Re: b18c 2.0 setup
He'll need to rev higher (depending on tire size) with the 5.1 + close gear set (longest 5th gear ratio for the MFactory sets is 1.000).
With the 2.0 setup, I would go for hotter cams (I suggest Rocket Motorsports M22XX or M24X depending on the CR you end up with). I'd also ditch the Toda style header. It is great for B16 setups but will hurt the 2.0 setup.

Re: b18c 2.0 setup
shallow piston and longer rod, big cams pro 3 or around there. You already have the killer gearing so you will need to rev high. Should be nasty, also check out the skunk2 pro street intake manifold, a user on here gained 30whp alone over itbs.

yes, Toda style will be ditched, we will go for a custom 4-1 I believe, for cams we will most likely go skunk pro2 as my tuner has these for sale
any piston make you recommend?

Re: b18c 2.0 setup
I've got similar setup GE sleeves 13.8:1, 84.5mm bore, pro 2's on my daily. I love it power everywhere made 238 whp on a conservative tune. I recommend the hytech header, great power and I think the 4-2-1 (Tri-Y) will provide better flow than a 4-1.
Will you be keeping the same itb? Won't they be too small for a mean 2.0L? You'll be moving a lot more air than that 1.6L.
P.s: my limiter is at 8600 because I like hitting it too much on a daily basis... On a race car that's properly balanced and blueprinted I don't think this setup will provide any rpm problems

Re: b18c 2.0 setup
yes i will keep the ITB, it's TWM 52' which will be just ideal, it's too large for my 1.6 now
actually the ITB in my car comes from the only B18 2.0 project in PL that made 289bhp but the guys arn't talkative
frankly i didn't find a well described of this kind here on H-T neither so I hoped u guys toss me a link or 2 if I missed something
