Default window trim fading. is AUTOZONE trim paint good?

hi, the window trim on the civic is fading. was wondering what was the best way to repaint it? should i just buy some trim paint at autozone and paint it? is blue painter's tape enough to prevent overspray? has anyone done this before? alrighty, any input would be greatly appreciated.

I know what you mean, but Autozone isn't really a brand of paint. I would suggest you look for SEM brand, it is affordable and good quality.

Your trim needs to be cleaned and degreased before painting, and keep in mind if there is any wind you have a chance to get overspray anywhere on the car. Blue painters tape is good good for sure, but overspray can go well beyond 2"

Just put on new trim pieces and be done with it. It will take you 15 minutes opposed to spending hours prepping, painting, overspraying, and in the end not looking very good.

Usually when they get to the age that they're fading, the felt is gone too.

I just painted the trim on my 97 Prelude and I used a duplicolor flat black trim paint and mine came out great.
