vinyl wrap base.

vinyl wrap base.
I need a cheap solution for vinyl wrap. my car needs to be stripped and painted.
but I would like to use vinyl wrap instead so I can change color easier if I want to.
what kind of base can I use so when I remove vinyl its not gonna pull the paint with it.
should I go with single stage
or just use white epoxy as a base coat
or will primer/sealer work good and not pull off when vinyl has to come off

If the factory paint has clear coat or any type of peeling it will lift while re-positioning the vinyl during installation. Also any/all defects in the current paint will reflect on the vinyl. Most material is rather thin so any knicks in clear coat or paint do stand out on vinyl.

lol now that we got that out of the way.
will epoxy spray can hold up as base for vinyl? so it doesn't peel when I remove vinyl later?
I know most of aftermarket paint will peel because of bad prep by the shops or me. that's why I didn't want to spend money painting it and then laying the vinyl.
but I don't know if I can just get some cheap single stage or even epoxy to have it same color because im laying on pearl white and it has some transparency so I cant do black epoxy.

spray can will lift right off...yes i know from experience. Your best bet is to buy a single stage and spray it on if you are that concerned.
Personally I would just sand down and blend the peeling areas and fix any stone chips and dents then single stage the whole car and let it cure for a week or so then wrap. Remember some vinyls have some transparency so white might be your best bet to single stage.
With all of this said, i think you are over doing it for a vinyl wrapped car but it will last much longer and look better than plastidip.
Her is my car I wrapped years back, IMO if i could do it all over again, i should have just painted the car in the first place and been done with it. The vinyl is fun and easy to care for but I like the deep gloss of paint much better, hense the reason I painted my latest restoration

I would not add paint before you wrap your car. If anything, sanding the surface beforehand, if there are that many paint imperfections/flaws, would work better.
