Painting my steel wheel - tape
I need to paint a set of OE black steel wheels black. Why? Just touching up to prevent rust. OE paint job is starting to fade and I "can see metal."
Tires are on the wheel. Not worth the expense to remove them. Plus may replace tires in a year. So no need to be perfect. Now that we got that out of the way.
I got some garbage bags and need some tape.
What kind of tape do you recommend to tape up the wheel? Or should I say rubber?
He used blue tape.
What is it, and what do you recommend?

use painters tape because it wont leave a residue, its easy to remove, not harsh n sticky, and if u take ur time u can curve the tape to the rim.
try to get thiner tape than me i had a crap load of that left over try the 1 inch then put ur garbage bags or paper half way over the tape then retape bag on so u have it covered good

Thats what ive always done. just overlap the cards by about 1/3 to make sure everything is covered, and then a small strip of tape bw each card just in case there is a gust of wind or something. you really cant F it up. worst case scenario is you just re-do it
