How do you mix base/clear into a single stage?
I put a JDM front on friends DC2 and I'm painting the whole car also. I used my touch up gun to primer all of the welds but I want to put a little paint on them but I dont have a whole lot of room since the motor is in the car.
So my question is, the paint I got is base/clear but I want to mix some of it single stage for those spots. How do I do it? Thanks.

buy single stage paint. You cant mix a two stage base clear together hence two stage. IF your just doing little spots doing a base clear shouldnt be that hard

It's gonna be hard to get to with clear and not run it and make a mess. My old roommate used to do it to paint bolts and little stuff all the time but he and I dont talk anymore.
I think he just dumps the clean in the base. But I dont know how to how much to use.
Anyone?

1/1 unreduced base/activated clear. You can add a little reducer, but just adding the clear effects the coverage a lot. You could also over reduce the clear a little before mixing 1/1.
If its a pearl or metallic its most likely not going look good at all. If its a hard area to clear, its hard area to paint in general. Sounds like it doesn't really matter what it looks like though.
