Default Having body repair done. To fill or not to fill? ?

I was in a car accident about two weeks ago, where the passenger side of my vehicle has been dented in completely. The back door skin is being replaced by insurance but they intend on filling the front door's dents? The front door is damaged from the door handle to the bottom of the door and the dent is quite large and has created a large crease. The vehicle is 1 yr old, and I feel the door skin should be replaced, as the accident was not my fault and my insurance is taking care of it all. The car has never been damaged before.

yeah , we need a pic. some techs can get the metal back where it needs to be with using hardly any bodyfiller but that depends on what the damage looks like.

i completely understand what your saying though about the car being a year old with no previous damage. if it says 4 to 6 hrs repair time on your estimate and the insurance is being ****** about it, tell the shop and the insurance company you want to "loss of value". talk to the shop owner or estimator about it. if the car is at the insurance company's "direct repair" facility's then talk to a different shop about the situation.

Have them fix it. That way you still keep factory seam sealer on the door. The only invasive thing you have going right now is the back door getting a new door skin. When posible you want to keep as many factory panels as you can. They have vin stickers on them that can not be transferd.
In the future if you sell the car someone will pick up on the fact that the back door has had a door skin put on possibly but if done right, you can not tell that the front door was repaired.

Put up a pick though. I would like to see the damage.

if a shop were to replace a door skin. they would also replace the seam sealer.
and the vin# is on the door shell, not the skin. so now its just a matter of taking it to a shop that will do it the right way.
but without a pic, we cant tell if its a necessity to replace or fix.

yes seam sealer is replaced on door skins. metal bond goes on the inside, seam sealer on the outside.
