What type of spray gun would be recommended for diy use. (meaning, home use in one-car garage used as a paint booth) Im leaning towards spraycan, but if i can use an inexpensive spray gun with my compressor than im all for it
Info is much appreciated, Thanks dudes

I have used the HF HVLP gun up to 600 doller guns i found that the HF one does pretty good and for 20 bucks you can trash it after you use it if you want. just make sure to use a dryer on the air line when spraying.

If you have different colored panels, does it all need to be primered or is it ok to just spray over it? Will it all be uniform in color?

Well done! This gives me much confidence to sand a car again! Before this I told my self I would never sand/possible paint a car again due to recent asking the wrong people and not searching for my self!

hmmm i agree on most of his thread, but he does have alot of mis information on there. for instance, he says all areas that filler will be applied to needs to be ground down? that filler wont attach to paint? 3ms fillers are made to attach to paint and 3m wants you to use 80 grit max. 36 grit causes alot of shrinkage in filler...you might not see it after the repair but after months later filler does shrink showing sand scratches from beneath. btw i am a journey man tech, platinum certified icar, ase gold, and trained with all new products from 3m. i used to work in Mo at route 66 rods, now at caliber collision for the last 6 years

Nice general write up here. One more good point worth mentioning is keeping body lines crisp by applying tape to one half, skimming with glazing putty then removing the tape while the filler is wet. Wait for it to dry, block sand it, then do the same thing to the other side.

Does Evercoat polyester metal glaze go bad? As in a expiration date? My mixture is correct but it WILL NOT feather just flakes off on the edges
