Icon2 Different colored door handles?

My 95 Civic EX 2 door has different door handle colors? The driver's side is black (my car is white) and kind of a heavy duty plastic material, and the passenger side door handle is body color and made of the metal of the body. Is this supposed to be like this or did I lose a part of my car? I bought it used a couple weeks ago.

I'm not a huge 5th gen fan or anything, but I thought all their door handles were made of plastic, whether they're the black unpainted textured plastic or the body color matched ones with the smooth finish.

Are you sure the passenger side one is made of metal? What makes you think that?

I would expect it might be likely that the driver one was damaged and replaced with a door handle from a lower trim level. The stock USDM Civic EX should have color matched door handles as far as I know.

Son it feels the same texturewise as the rest of the door (smooth, painted finish), whereas the driver's door handle is a rough, durable plastic one. Check my pictures and you can see the passenger door quite well, and maybe the driver's door.

That's what I said. The black unpainted ones are textured plastic. The painted ones are smooth and painted.

The EX should have the painted ones. They're all plastic on the inside though, at least if they're stock.

Sounds like the Driver's side door handle broke and they replaced it with an unpainted one. Happens all the time. No need to waste money on a fancy (painted) door handle if you"re gonna sell the car anyway.

Yep. Just like I said.

I didn't see the OP say he was selling the car though. Only that he just bought the car a few weeks ago.

The EX has painted door handles. The DX has unpainted (black textured plastic) door handles.

I wish both of mine were plastic. They don't scratch when I miss the keyhole.

Check craigslist, eBay, the Honda-Tech Market Place, and local salvage yards. A replacement handle shouldn't be too difficult to find, possibly even in your current color.
