automotive paint, over spray canned primer ?
i am working on my engine bay, getting it prepare for paint, i want to have someone paint it, with automotive
paint, and since im doing the sanding, and shaving, i wanted to ask, if it is ok to use nason, self itching primer, 491-40it comes in a spray can, and being able to spray real automotive paint over it, or would i have to sand it down later ??

Should be fine man, Ive used normal primer from a can and sprayed base/clear over it with no issues. If it comes out of a spray can or a spraygun its the same material.

a downside to using a spray can anything, is it cant guarantee you a flat uniformed surface...
besides that... they always suggest you to use the same line of products from beginning to end... but who's to say you cant right?

You shouldn't need to primer the bay. Purple power and preesure wash the mess out of it. (Like a whole gallong of purple power) and sand it with 400 and you should be ok.

He's shaving the bay. So yes, he has to get the mud work covered in primer, blocked/west sanded, before painting.

If youre doing paint not on bondo, be sure the area is clean and just try to spray it as even as possible and sand it down and re apply and sand again. on bondo be sure to sand down the bondo, and be sure ur pulling dents and not just filling in with bondo
