Default air compressors and correct paint supplies

What would be the correct air compressor one would need to paint a car? Cheapest the better.
And what all paint would i need if i wanted to paint my 02 civic. Sanatori blue. It's the bmw blue. There's another name for it.
Thanks in advance and i apologize for this not being in the proper forum, my phone doesn't seem to display the other forums that my pc does.

We should re-edit the thread title to "My 1st DIY Car paint and DIY booth attempt".

Paint sprayers tend to use lots of air so the bigger the compressor the better. Usually if you are researching one it'll say whether it's recommended for paint or not. Also you'll want an inline filter to remove condensation.

Not it sure about paint.

you don't want to go cheap on a compressor for a job like that. thing is, a massive compressor will also likely be oil filled, so you will need filters, oil traps, water traps, and finally dryers etc... along the way. the air supply alone gets to be rather expensive. I'm actually thinking of running twin compressors in parallel. that would provide the steadiest stream of air and not heat up the compressors so much that they would start blowing a bunch of water into the air lines.

any chance you can find a local body shop that would rent you a booth for the day?

paint selection, use the stuff that your local paint person supplies. All the products are very close in quality and all of them offer everything from a value/fleet line to high end paint. So you can pick your poison according to your budget. I wouldn't personally go too cheap, esp not on the clearcoat. If I had to, I'd go with a cheaper base and a more expensive clear within the same paint family.

but your local paint supplier will know his offerings and will be able to help you get the right compatible products to make sure your paint lays nice assuming you follow the instructions. READ the instructions on the cans. no two products mix exactly the same way, the information on their website and the data sheets will be critical to getting a good result.

Thanks prodjay10, I was able to do further research tonight and learn more about the correct air compressor. In case anyone else has come here with the same question, this page has pretty useful information to start yourself off with.
DeVilbiss, Anest Iwata, Asturo AOM, Sharpe, Astro Pneumatic, Binks - Spray Guns & More
Afterwards, I recommend youtube for more.

And by the way, I remembered the exact name of the paint I want to get in case someone knows what all I'd have to buy to have it one of these two colors below?
Estoril Blue metallic paint OR matte Estoril Blue paint.
I love either of those and think they'd look very unique on my 02 Civic!!!!
Much <3. Take care everyone.

Do you think this air compressor would work for the job? I'm not asking for anything fansy, just something that's going to work properly with the spray gun...
I seen someone else using this to spray-paint the inside of their house Lol.. but I'm not exactly 100% sure that it's exact model. Do you think this compressor should work theoretically? I assume if not, Walmart may let me return it.

Does anyone happen to know what kind of air filter that is? What to search for? I'd like to find one that's perfect fit for a regular box fan, and will still pull air through pretty easily.

SS, I did my first paint job with a 30 gallon compressor. As far a filters do you need intake or exhaust? These are the ones I use for my booth. Series 66 Extra Heavy Duty Dual Layer Intake Blanket Filters
