Sorry to rain on your parade but I've seen air cooled vw's static dropped that extreme since back before the internets. The only difference is that they did not start life as one of the worlds most well balanced roadsters. I'm no miata purist but I had a fun couple of years with one and I just don't understand why you wouldn't want it to be able to do what it is capable of doing.

My favorite part is your pictures! You've chronicled the car as though it's something great. "Fable" isn't just an appropriate screen-name, it's a perfectly cynical commentary on your skewed perception of this Miata. You spent money on the wheels ... But what's going on with those rusty streaks?
