What's up guys I'm having some issues with my wife's car, it's a 2000 Durango and I believe someone tried to *break* into it by opening the hatch, no alarm went off but the car went into SECURITY MODE!!! disabling the car from being driven, started etc. etc. So now because some A hole!! I'm out of my work vehicle, anyway when I disconnected the battery overnight and *reset* the computer, the security light still flashes and there's a rapid clicking sound from the right side of the dash, even the guys at Dodge when I called said they didn't know what was going on, so before I spend the $500 to take it to the dealership I want to fix it myself. FIXED IT!!! the problem turned out to be a bad battery connection, so i replaced the battery (under warranty) and replaced the starter, turned my key in the driver door lock to LOCK then UNLOCK twice, and turned my key in the ignition from OFF to the ON position and repeated the steps two times. And then it started up like a dream, so I fixed it myself for $80 rather than a dealer for $500, hope this helps anyone and please be persistent because it took me 3 days to get the process right.
