key stuck in the ignition!!

key stuck in the ignition!!
okay...my granparents have a honda pilot...and their key is stuck in the ignition...and there is no way of taking it out...is there anyway of taking it out??

its in park...it been like this for a while now...about a month or two...we have tried everything....park, neutral, pushing into the ignition....we were thinking about using WD-40...but we know if that will mess up the ignition....so we don't know wat to do? anyone??

Is the steering wheel turned in the lock position? That can cause the key to not come out of the ignition.
Do the brake lights work? Another possible cause is a faulty brake switch. If the switch is bad the vehicle won't recognize that it is in park and will lock the key in the ignition.

like i said before...we have been able to dirve the car around for about 2 months now...so the brake lights do work...my grandpa drives this car daily....

Hmm.. Here's something you can try.
Move the shifter as far up into Park as you can. Maybe it's out of adjustment. Then you can also try and move your shifter out of Park and back into it. This time listen for a noticeable click. Your ignition lock cylinder should click and release your key. If it's clicking, I would assume it's your Park switch on the shifter assembly.
I'm not sure how it's mounted in there, but in the 01-05 Civics, I've had that little pawl/detent break off and not contact the Park switch. This also causes the shifter to shift past the last gear, in this car it would go past gear 2.
I'd check that. If it's your park switch, disconnecting it should release your key.
