Hi folks. I bought a battery at CostCo about 5 months ago. The person looked at his manual to find out which battery will work for my Honda Odyssey 2004. I got home and I installed it. After a day, for no reason at all, it alarmed. I also noticed that when I arm it, it doesn't beep anymore after pressing the key the second time. It's been making me crazy for almost 5 months now since sometimes, it happens around 2am, 4am. It's very random. For the span of 5 months, it may have alarmed for 30 times now. Today, it alarmed while I was buying something in Home Depot.

I did some research and found one of the threads before saying to remove the battery, negative first, then positive. Wait for 15 mins before putting back the wires with positive first then negative. That didn't help.

Did I miss a step when I installed the battery?

The security alarm is factory installed.

Looks like I went to the wrong forum. Nobody knows how to fix it. Maybe, I'll buy the same brand of battery I had before which is Interstate with a CCA of 800. Then I'll return the battery to Costcol Thanks anyways.

f*cking ****, I returned the battery today at CostCo then went to an authorized dealer of Interstate battery. As suggested by Interstate, I bought the MTP-24P with a CCA 800. I installed it with the positive first then negative last. I followed what Continental Honda told me which is use the key on the driver side to arm and disarm the van. I did that. After 10 mins, the alarm started alarming again. I'll really have to bring this van to the dealer.

I hope someone here knows an undocumented step that needs to be done. Or is the friggin security system toast? CRAP!

Just an update, my 2004 Odyssey is with Honda authorized shop now. LOL! I hope it won't be expensive. I'm glad it alarmed while the person was pressing the arm button on the keyless. I'll keep you posted even if no one responds. HAHAHA!
