2016 Honda Pilot J35Y6 91 vs 87 Oct

My question is if I start using octane will I get more power or the same power of the MDX? Since J35Y6 is the same motor in the Acura TLX and Acura MDX? If you see the compression ratio it the same 11.5:1
Also is the ECU smart enough to recognized the difference between 87 to 91 octane?

Basically if I start using 91 octane am I just throwing money away?
