i don't know if i would go as far as saying rota's are going to perform worse, a 99-00 civic si rim weighs 18 lbs and are cast, so pretty hard to break, (i know this cuze i can't bend a cast club head but a forged one i can with ease) and the rota gt-3s in a 15x7 is 13.5 lbs, and is cast, but in some cases you should figure MOI moment of interia, i don't get it but someone might, i found a write up by bad-monkey on honda-tech heres the link > https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1415856 show

and i cannot personal say how true the weights are but if you go to http://www.wheelweights.net/ you can see about any wheel weight made thanks and hate to correct a fellow montanaian (< is that correct termology?) but its all in good and si wheels look tight

im not saying youre wrong...but im not sure if those numbers are accurate...he doesnt really mention any method of weighing them. Ive heard si's being called about 15 pounds..and although i havent really looked into gt3s...thats 13 lbs is very light for a cast wheel...almost too light to believe. In fact, ive seen forged wheels weigh more than that. I dont know man.

furthermore... youre comparing a 15x7 to a 15x6 wheel.
For a honda civic..especially eg/ef..you might be better of with 15x6 unless youve got a **** ton of boost. You wont have as much traction...but the car will probably still handle better..just because it has less tire to move....especially if you dont have power steering.
Also...on a 15x7 wheel the tires going to weigh more(and be more expensive and harder to find) and youll need more air..so in the end they might come out weighing pretty close to the same.

Strengthwise..of course there both cast. But, i bet honda's got a more advance research and development facility(which rota probably doesnt even have), and i bet honda uses better machines and higher quality materials. The si's gonna be stronger than the rota still..i can guarantee it. It will also be better balanced.

Besides..rotas are knockoffs and therefore poserish....but thats just an argument...i dont hate on rotas at all...theyre still good wheels.

Si's are still worth 600 simply because theyre oem, made by a company with better materials and development resources, and have a better finish. i still hold that they perform better.

But there are knockoffs of si's available..if you guys didnt know...

Montanan... by the way.
Thank YOU.

I think ill take a point on that scoreboard.

either way, both are just as durable, and i experienced a wider tire is better, im sure to wide is possible but not 7 inches, and the money difference couldn't be over 10 bucks, and using extra air is a poor excuse cost a fraction of a penny to make that air from a compressor, and yeah surely honda has to have a better facility, but its not rocket science to make a rim round and functional, i think cavemen figured out the circle so IMO it be tuff to mess up making a wheel, and cast is cast, if its die cast its horrible, but cast is what it is, its like comparing a saturn door to a ford, the saturn compnay has a small facility, and ford is huge, but saturn made a dentless door. size and money has nothing to do with someone work and creativeness i have to point out weight difference, i never said si's rims are worth 600 or not, i just couldn't spend 600 for oem used rims IMO, but thats me and there is people who will buy them for that much, like i said i was pointing out weight difference and handling, i never said i'd pic one over the other

cavemen didnt invent the circle, they invented the wheel.

I wasnt emphasizing the air itself, air is free!..i was emphasizing tire size and therefore price increase,

I wouldnt pick one over the other either. Both are tight..we can agree on that.

I still stand that a honda wheel will be better quality than rota, however.

the saturn vs. ford argument...doesnt really work; both are car companies. Rota doesnt make cars. The only way it would work is if saturn didnt make cars and only made replica doors for fords. or if we were comparing..say...a nissan wheel to a honda wheel. It would be amazing if a company that only made knockoff parts made something as innovative as dent proof doors.

Large facilities dont mean quality **** and i never implied that...ford factories are big because they have been around since it took massive assembly lines with actualy human beings pounding out all the metal. Honda...has robots. Honda's facility has newer and better technology and thats precisely WHY its smaller. Saturn is a newer company, and while its technology may be similiar to ford's, its facilities are still smaller only because they were built in a time when robotic technology was available. Just imagine ford's...massive old warehouses meant to hold thousands of people, now with just a fraction running machines.

Handling preferences vary from person to person. Im going for 16's..so thats mine.

Whats the story on chico?
