JDM Type R Longblock - B18C
I am selling my jdm type r longblock. The engine code is b18C. This motor made 199whp with just bolt on's. I have a lsvtec turbo build ready to drop in so am pulling this & using the $ to fund the rest of my new build. This motor ran with 0 issues, burned no oil between changes and made a healthy 199whp at its last dyno session. The motor itself has been sitting in storage/garage sealed up for the last 2 years. If you don't see it listed its not included. Most of the aftermarket parts were removed & sold or re-installed on my new engine. What is included though is as followings
-JDM B18C Longblock "Type R"
-Skunk2 S1 Camshafts
-Skunk2 6 Bolt adjustable cam gears
-Moroso oil pan
-MSD ignition w/blaster coil
-MSD plug wires
-can add a catch can setup as well
-stock fuel rail
Estimated Mileage is <40k. Ive had this engine a long time and personally put less than 1000 miles on it in the past 4 years. Yes, you read that correctly. Before i spent more time tinkering and less time driving I put less than 5k a year on it. This was a weekend only car that normally was on jack stands trying out new parts & changing things up.
-No intake manifold, transmission, throttle body, exhaust manifold, injectors etc. Its a bare longblock ready for you to complete with your own choice of parts. This engine has never been opened up past the head just to install the camshafts. I never had any issues with this motor and it was a reliable all motor engine. I starting a turbo build a long time ago & lost interest due to my career at the time & am finally circling back to finish what I started. I am located in st.louis missouri and am willing to meet within a driving distance.
I would prefer NOT to ship.
Feel free to ask any/all questions. I will get more pictures up shortly.

Bumping this up for a fellow STL'er. Wish I had the money for this motor. Also I take it Matt from HTP is still around? I just recently gotten back into Hondas after being with the Subaru crowd for 4 years.

Thanks man. You know I am honestly not sure. I really hope so because I am gonna need his expertise for some things sooner than later but I left him a voicemail just last week & haven't heard back from him. He was always hard to get a hold of sometimes though. I am in the same boat. I have been tinkering with my infinti for the past few years and put the honda on hold for a while. Finally getting back to this project/build. Matt is pretty much the only shop I would ever trust to work on my car. It may take a while but the work done is legit as it gets for sure.

Well I did check his website and it's still up as well as the FB page. So I am assuming that he's still doing the same ol stuff. I've been piecing together a b20v turbo build...looking to be done sometime fall of next year. I miss my ol Honda days and now it's kinda different, although it's nice that not every person and their mom has a modded Honda running the streets.

Nice, yea from what I hear he is still in business but he has been doing more production work then custom fab. Just what I heard is all. I did find a guy locally that seems to do good custom work though. He worked for HTP at one point and showed me some pretty slick welding pictures but Ill find out for sure after I get some work done from him shortly. Yea me too, it really sucks having not driven this thing in like 4+ years but I am glad I kept all my parts & may finally finish my build. It was out of sight out of mind while I moved away the past few years but looking forward to working on her again. Its also kind of refreshing not seeing a modded Honda on every corner like you mentioned. I haven't seen any serious builds or Honda's in the area since back when I was working on mine 3-4+ years ago. Dunno if I just haven't seen them or they don't exist anymore. Does Jeff still has this turbo gsr sol? Haven't see him in years!
