JDM ITR HID Headlights - What ballasts/igniter?
I recently bought a set of ITR HID headlights, it didn't come with bulbs or ballasts. I work at Acura so I brought in the headlight to see if the TSX igniter would fit, to my surprise it did NOT fit into the socket of my headlight. So I was wonderin' what the JDM HID headlights would take ? I know its D2S bulb and the OEM ballasts are Hella/Phillips, BUT what about the igniter ?
Would the Hella/Phillips GEN3 HID kit fit perfectly into my headlights?

LOL. Baller, you can afford 2 sets of JDM HID headlights?
But yeah, I'm wondering the same thing.
Also, is it a 9006 D2S bulb or just a D2S bulb ?

yeah the OEM HID is a D2S bulb, on the other hand the NON HID headlights use a 9006... you should only need a ballast, the ignitor is inside the ballast

I don't have OEM HID's with I'm pretty sure that the any 4300k D2S HID bulb is just plug and play... Remove bulb from igniter, put on bulb to igniter...
The OP is asking what to do with his OEM HID Headlights since it didn't come with bulbs/ballasts for it. Which I would wonder the same, do you replace it with an aftermarket 4300k HID kit ? Will it be the same ? Or does it have to be with Hella/Phillips Ballasts, etc ?

i have oem HIDs on my JDM front, and i had a ballast go out on me too about a year ago. the ballast is not sold new anywhere anymore so i tried using a different ballast from my buddies car and it made the bulb shine a little more of a blue tint that the oem. so i just pulled the oem ballast off and bought two of the same aftermarket ballasts. they work perfect and i have had no problems with them since

Any oem ballast/ignitor should work with your setup. It really does not matter what ballasts/ignitor you get as long as the bulb connection is for d2s.

The variation in ballast should not affect the brightness of the bulb unless the ballast you used from your buddies car has a different power rating other than the standard (what I believe to be) 35watt rating. Other than this, the only thing that effects how bright the bulb shines is the life of the bulb.
