Re: how do i do this to my headlights
There are a few write ups ive seen on here.
First take the headlights off the car.
Then remove all rubber pieces and bulbs.
Heat the oven to 200 degrees then put one in for 5-10 minutes, this will let the silcone become sticky and allow you to pry the headlight into two pieces.
Once youve done that, there will be 2 screws (there were 2 for my EK headlight) to remove the piece you paint from the front plastic cover.
Then paint that piece which color you light, i primer ed 2 coats and did 2 coats black
When you put it back together, you have to cook it again. Before you stick it in the oven, push it back together as much as you can first, to get it aligned right.
Some recommend to use some clear silicone to seal it really well.
If i missed something, please post.

it's a DIY thing... a shop, if they even knew what they were doing, would probably charge something like $200 to do it, when it would cost you about $10 in materials.

if you're not scared to bake your lights in the oven, you can do this yourself or you can even send them to me and I'll paint them and clean up your lenses if they're oxidizing

Re: how do i do this to my headlights
That link is clear cut. Pictures always help.
However, I would not set the headlight lenses face down to prevent dust and particles to come in to the inside. We always use compressed air to blow out any debri that may have come in, but still.
I would also not have used the oven method. Investing in a $20 heat gun (usually found in the paint section in Lowe's and Homedepot) works better, and focuses the heat to the headlight silicone rather than the headlight lens and back housing.
The same is true for when you seal the headlights back together.
Black housing your headlights is a 1-3 hour project.
Hope this helps

Re: how do i do this to my headlights
That's how I did my headlights after retrofitting. I just pushed the pieces back together, no additional sealant needed. Almost 5 years later and barely any moisture issues ever.

Re: how do i do this to my headlights
Sorry for the bump from the head but I have a problem with my JDM front end on my Integra...
I just wetsanded the headlights and buffed them today and man did they look great. A few hours later after the sunset and it got cool I noticed some condensation in my drivers side light... I was thinking about taking the headlight out during the day and letting it air dry for a few hours, and then clean the seals on the 5 headlight bulbs... And is it possible to 'patch' up the headlights from the outside with some silicone sealant?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
