Re: (hondaboy4life)
Count me in finally. TSX retrofit on my teg.
Finished wiring everything up yesterday and had them up and running. I'll get pics of the cutoff and stuff 2nite, I think I need to work on the alignment of the headlights some more cause they seem to still be off. But no one has flashed me yet.

I"m from NY, but down here in Richmond, VA, where the shop is at, but I think we may relocate the shop up to Long Island by Fall.

E46 projectors cutoff suck, I have them. But that's if you're into cutoffs. IMO, they're HID projectors, and although they're at the bottom of the barrel at far as cutoff goes, light distribution is adaquate.

Nope its just one. I still have my halogen for the highbeem. but no use when the tsx over powers it. If you look in the first pic of my actually bike. you can see the tsx on the bottom, and up top is just a normal H4 halogen bulb.

Re: (huntcopsnotdeer)
Nice thread!
I'm out of hondas, but am still looking to do a retrofit into my Evo. Anyone have a set of S2000 projectors for sale? If so, please message me here, or on msn (brentsfracing@hotmail.com)
I'm willing to sell my evo projectors in future, as well as a set of Valeo ECE's.
I'll post some pics of my retros later, or you can see some old work in the link in my sig!

Re: (-Bionic-)
Ok fellas. I'd like to join the club, but I just can't seem to get my retrofit to be perfect. I had the retro done by a highly regarded shop, who have been more than pleasant and helpful to work with during this ordeal. I'll leave out the lengthy technical back story and get right to it.
The set-up:
TSX projectors with matching bowls and lenses; color-modded
OEM Acura Integra housings with aftermarket clear lenses (no lines across lenses)
Philips D2S bulbs and Philips/Hella Gen3 Ballasts
The issue:
I cannot seem to get my cut-off right. I can get it close, but then the projectors are ridiculously offset within the housings (see pics). The high beams get thrown out of alignment significantly. If I set up the projectors so that they look flush in their housings, it adversely affects the cut-off by making the beams point at each other towards the middle rather than straight out. It seems to me as if the projectors are not set correctly within the housings, therefore throwing the cut-off completely out of wack. You'll notice from the pics, that once the cutoff is close, it makes one of the projectors sit really far back in its housing, like it's sunken in, which in-turn, makes that projector dimmer than the other.
Enough babble...click the link to view all the pics with descriptions.

NOt sure what year evo you got, but if it's a 9 or 8, you should consider the TL, or a 3" diameter lens, sinc ethat's what you got.

It's not that it won't fit, but the lens is much smaller than the EVO lens, and thus, it may look a little weird. PLus, can't hurt with HID highbeams either, since the TL is bixenons.
But yeah, it will work with a S2000.

thanks for the reply. I thought you were implying the s2000 projector lens was larger than the evo's...
I appreciate it.

I would say no. Those H3 projectors are designed for halogens, and the focal point will be completely off. Have you seen a H3 bulb and a D2S bulb? It's like comparing your pinky toe to your middle finger.
If HIDs isn't right for the moment, then get some nice halogen bulbs, but I wouldn't waste my time with a HID kit. Go all the way, or don't do it at all.
Just my opinion.
So, I just wanted to show the HT community our latest 5th gen prelude retrofit. Pretty OEM if I can say it myself. We used S2000 projectors and S2000 shrouds.
Comments welcome.
