sounds like the ballast is going out to me. If it were the bulb, it would not have come back on at all.

<- 6-yr old Philips ballasts and 5-yr old Philips bulbs still going strong

I dunno some people call it a color mod i guess.. It makes a sort of purple color next to the cut off.. I dunno if it was worth my time but I just had the lenses so I thought why not.. and I couldn't sell them cause I got flamed on my local forum anyway.. they are g35 projectors with aftermarket halogen projector clear lenses .. the ones with the purple tint... So I HAVE G35 CLEAR LENSES FOR SALE if anyone wants them.. . Okay so on the to the pics...

Aftermarket projectors

Stock cut off of the g35 lenses and projectors..

Okay that was all I got done today.. it took forever to figure out how to properly mount the lenses.. I was a pain in the *** I am dissapointed that i didn't get to make the brackets to mount the new projectors in the aftermarket light houseing's but when I was looking on the internet i found some cool things i could do like mask my halo angel eyes to make them look like the ten star led shrouds that i have seen.. well piece out..
Youre going about this all wrong, that is way too much space between the projector. You need the right size lens and maybe space it out a 1/4" tops.

1. The space in this area is about 1/2 inch

2. This rim is resting on the the stock seat of the old location where to stock lenses would have been.. The only reason I did this is because they fit almost perfectly on there which means i didn't have to center anything just used loctite liquid metal while still getting 1/2 inch spacing that i needed...

The reason i needed this much spacing is becuase I was using the incorrect lense size and this size in the stock position would not even focus at all.. When I backed it off my cut off was extremely clear with lots of color and only color above my cut off.. absolutly no light above my cut off.. I will have to post pics of the cut off when im done but right now im trying to get the brackets done... but for now here is the cut off at about six feet with the mod that i have done...

There is more light but it was hard to hold the bulb as the right spot will holding the projector and camera.. lol

You're using halogen projector lenses on HID projectors? That can't be very good.

The ghetto spacers I made space the lense about 1/2 inch out and your saying 1/4 tops so I will be cutting these little cups down to have a 1/4 inch spacing when I was testing a 1/4 spacing is best and has more color without hurting the output light too much, but cutting these things sucks and I am going to get some JB weld because they came off the too easy when I took them apart... What do you think about this cut off with the the lense sitting out 1/2 inch away from the stock spot...?

I'm trying to get some good 2.5 inch clear lenses but I am still going to mod the little adapters I made to see how the cutoff/output looks don't worry the g35 projectors will be fine all they have is some glue on them nothing I can't get off.. And the lenses I have now are really clear.. Its hard to find clear 2.5 inch clear lenses the FX35 lenses are kind of blurry and the rest are TL and RSX lenses which are not easy to get the just the lenses...

Get TSX, Valeo, 300zx, Retrofit source TSX or FX copies. DONT mess with the shield, everyone says you have cut or bend these to get color and its completely false. A good clear lens and correct spacing are all thats needed.

i found out its the bulb and not the ballast. what i did was switch the pass bulb over to my driver side ballast and it still flickered on for like 5 seconds and went dead. when i put the driver side bulb on the pass side ballast it worked fine. so its definitely the bulb. so i just swapped in one of the four extra sets of HID kits that i had lying around. this set has smaller ballasts.

Seems like alot more heads are getting into the retro scene. Thought I'd post some pics up to assist some of you first timers who are doing Gen3 Integra retros. The projectors shown below are TSX projectors, but I've sucessfully retro'd Land Rover bi-xenon projectors as well and they actually have a very nice cutoff. Sorry no pics of those.

I really like how the TSX projectors fit like a glove here. With the bigger Land Rover projectors I had to dremmel a small section off the shroud.

Good luck, and happy retrofitting.
