2000 civic lx dome light help
Hello and thank you. I need some help here. 2000 civic lx 4 dr no sunroof stock radio 67,000miles (moms) A few weeks ago I changed the dome light and trunk light to a brighter. LED .. It was working great. I even noticed it would dim( in door mode)Then one day it just stayed on and would not turn off unless switch was set to off..
I have checked all 4 door switches and they are working properly in terms of ohms..
We bought this car used 5 years ago and we never received key fobs so I'm not sure if it has keyless entry or not. Again this is the stock radio
Looking at Mitchell wire diagram. I see the ICU which I'm (assuming is part of the fuse box????) and then it runs the the keyless door lock control unit (1999-2000) Does any one know where this is
Better yet has anybody else had this problem and know exactly what caused it and what to do and how do I go about fixing it. I was thinking about Just rewiring from the green at the drivers door to the lt green/black. Just not sure if this would be a problem Or could I just bypass the. ICU green to lt green red??
Any help would be greatly appreciated . I would like to keep the led light. It's. a lot better for mom to see with
Vinny

Re: 2000 civic lx dome light help
You are on the right track with the ICU for a 2000 Civic... when the dome light is switched to come on when a door is opened, the ICU unit provides a temporary and diminishing ground for the dome light until it goes out.
The ICU is on the back of the fuse panel near the drivers side. I haven't tackled this on my 97 CRV yet. From the wiring diagram, it appears that I could eliminate the ground to the ICU and the light would go off (but not fade out). Or I could simply bypass the ICU for the same result.
I am not sure how complex or simple this would be.
