What sidemarkers were used for the template?

I didn't think there was a difference but here is the Stanley template.

Look different to me.

Thanks for posting this up man
Yes the template I posted is specifically for 92-95 Civic fenders. Right side is passenger and left side is driver side (on LHD of course).

The template I posted is for both the flat and domed Stanley sidemarkers used on 92-95 Civics, 94-01 Integras, S2000's, and I believe 90-93 Integras.

I can tell you for a fact that the Stanley sidemarkers will NOT fit through a hole cut like what you have shown above. In order for the clip to catch and snap in correctly, the hole MUST be cut like what I showed in my template.

Bump agreed. I e-mailed you a while back. I read one of your posts that said this was for 92-95 civic location on the fender. You said that if requested you could do one for the DC. I found plenty of threads for DIY fender cuts outs, but ALL of which were guessimating the approximate location based on pictures. Can you provide actual numbers?

Sorry I don't remember any e-mail.

Here's a pic that will get you close enough if not exact on Integra fenders. Where the mid-height body line meets the fender arch, project a vertical line and place the forward-most point of the sidemarker against that line. Then come down 3/4" from the crease in the fender above the arch and place the top edge of the sidemarker against that line.

I determined this placement from eyeballing some pics of JDM fenders. It's pretty much as close as you can get to the actual placement.

Yeah i've seen that picture. Unfortunately, in this photo the verticle line where the mid-fender crease meets the arch and the side marker isn't exactly vertical. Maybe the actual cut out is vertical, but not the front of the side marker. Its off an unknown distance. I am looking for the EXACT measurements. Thanks for the reply

That's because the picture is not straight on with the side marker.

Trust me, the forward point of the sidemarker is exactly vertical with the point where the lower body crease meets the fender arch. If you locate it in this fashion, it will be in the correct place.

I can put my laser level on it and take a pic tonight if you like.

I fugured it was the angle of the picture. To clarify, The front tip of the side marker housing (black part) will be exactly verticle with the mid-fender crease? Which would mean the actually cut out will be in (towards the door) a few millimeters? Additionally, to make the sidemarker sit at ~3/4'' in. from top of sidemarker (black housing) to the horizontal body crease, I will drop it 4.1 mm down then cut? Note: I am taking the 4.1 mm from the diagram you posted on the first page. Which by the way was awesome!

You got it.

What I do is print out the template to scale and lay it out on the INSIDE of the fenders, using the opposite side diagrams (left side on right fender, right side on left fender). Reason I do this is because the way my metal nibbler works, there's less chance of paint chipping at the edge of the metal if I come from the outside of the fender through to the inside (nibbler handles on outside of fender, nibbler jaws bite off from the inside of the fender), and it's easier to follow the template if it's on the inside of the fender so I can get the nibbler jaws right up to the line. Therefore I need the shape to show on the inside of the fender.

As you may have guessed I always remove fenders before cutting side marker holes. This way I can also lay out some lines on the inside fender metal using a Sharpie, without worrying about marking on painted surfaces.

Great thank you. I was a bit confused on how you were explaining the nibbler jaws (partly because I don't know what they are, so i googled :-)) Is this what you are talking about http://laudeman.com/bugimages/tool06.jpg ? Do you have to drill a hole first in order to begin cutting with them? Do you recomend using a dremel?

Yes drill a hole, but I use this one from Radio Shack:

http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...LAID=107598244

If I were to do it again I might use an air-powered one since I have air in my garage now.

No I don't recommend using a rotary cutting tool (Dremel). I've done sidemarkers with a Dremel before and you simply cannot control it and keep the hole as nice and neat as you can with nibblers. I suppose you could cut a smaller hole with a Dremel and then clean it up with the nibblers.

ya you could get away with using this template for the delsol, im not sure where u would mark the fender but just generally measaure up where youd want the side marker, then just match it on the otherside just so it looks proper...

here is my fender... i found the actual template that you print and its prints to scale then just match it up on your fenders...

and here is my little light set up...

Vision smoked corner lights, and im unsure what brand the sidemarkers are... got it all off ebay, not a bad set up if i say so myself
