K24a8 into ep3 vtec issue

Swapped a k24a8 into my 02 ep3. Getting a vtec malfunction code so we checked the oil and replaced the oil pressure switch and it's still coming up. From what I understand the ep3 should be able to run the k24a8 fine just a tad lean. Need help cause me and my honda master tech buddy are lost
