Kswap need some help/info
Did some searching around and I couldn't find some answers so I'm hoping you guys can answer them for me. Let me start by telling you guys the set up.
K20a2 w/ EP3 5 speed
TSX Cams
50* VTC
RBC IM
Things to come:
12:5-1 high comp pistons
custom fuel set up (obviously)
Port and Polish
Goal HP: ~250whp
Now on to the questions. This swap is going into my EF and I'm having trouble deciding on an ECU. Yes I know Kpro is the best and that's where I plan on going once I get the money. But I've heard that people use JDM ECUs to bypass the immobilized. I was wondering if the JDM PRC or PRD ECUs will work with a 5 speed? Also would I be able to run the stock K20a2 with the TSX cams and RBC on the factory JDM ECU without running into tuning problems? I just need an ECU to run the car for a month or two so I can save up for kpro and a tune but I don't want to ruin the motor. I do still have the stock K20a2 cams and cam gears if I have to put those back in. Thanks in advance. Any tips and info on what may help is welcome.
Also is there a difference between the a2 and K20a3 rocker assembly? I know the VTEC engages differently and my motor came without a rocker assembly. I have a k20a3 one from a previous motor and I want to know if I can run that instead without losing power or messing with the VTEC.

Use Hondata KPro... you will be much happier in the long run. That Russian copy/hack doesn't work as advertised and you will have NO product support if you have issues.

x2......And if you are running cams in it and not tuned for the difference, It may run Hell it may idle but the AFR wont be spot on. Not saying that you'll torch the engine and destroy it but me personally when I make a change that significant it gets a few logs and a provision to the tune.

Re: Kswap need some help/info
Thanks guys. I've decided to run the PRC ECU and just save if for kpro. From what I've read I shouldn't have issues running the jdm k20a ecu on a k20a2
