Is the K20 right for me?
Hey Honda Tech
I was wondering if the K20A would be a good fit for my 1990 Honda CRX.
What Im looking for:
Every day summer car
Fast
Reliable
If this isn't maybe suggest a different series.
thanks!

OT: This engine will not work with the setup I have. B16A/B is what I'm going for.

Your "local mechanic" huh? That's all you did? Walk up to someone and ask a couple of questions of someone that probably didn't know what you were talking about? That's not real research. And how will a K20 NOT work in a CRX? Please enlighten us how it doesn't work with your setup.

K20 ticks all the boxes for you.
It also makes the weight distribution better up front for a lhd car.
I say do it - in an 88hf!
Jswap would also fit your prerequisites - except the hood clearance isn't great.

Re: Is the K20 right for me?
The K20 block is more CRX friendly to close the hood...its actually why i'm goign it with my weekend/street drive 91 CRX Si. You also have the option to go with a 6speed transmission, and good power if you decide to do all motor.
I personally am going with a 2.6 liter K20 all motor in my CRX so my main goal was spinning 4th and maybe 5th gears (LMAO) all motor and being able to close the hood, but most importantly the car HAS to be very quiet (so i'm going with a 22" Magnaflow muffler and 3" piping).
I also have the highest RPM cluster that came in the CRX (JDM SiR) which goes to 9500 RPM. Other than that might have a lil sub box and lil loud system to enjoy while driving aorund in the street. I also bought the SUJA1 bracket kit that allows you to convert to hydraulic clutch and remove the cable.
Good luck on your decision. Thought it would be helpful to share my goal with my CRX. Maybe if i'm int he mood i'll create a build thread for it.
