Re: Member Introductions
Hello,
I am new to the site I previously owned a honda and it was a 1993 Accord Ex now I recently bought a 1998 civic EX and I am trying to find the security control unit on it to take it out and install a aftermarket one because I changed out the deck. My car is bone stock, but it's a work in progress. Still fixing it to OEM specs for now till I'm done with schooling then I will do what I can with the vehicle. If anyone could give me good tips I will apreciate it.

Hey everyone, my name is Josh. I just recently got back into the Honda scene. I had a few in my younger days and about 4 months ago I bought a 2009 Si Sedan. Haven't gotten much of an opportunity to dig into the at as much as I'd like to. I look forward to getting to know everyone and learning more along the way. Here is a picture of the car. Hope everyone has a blessed day.

Hey, im Anthony. from Oregon, USA. i recently got a civic, its the 2nd honda ive had. im 25 and when i was 18 i had a 93 prelude. anyways, i have a 93 eg8 now. D15b/5 speed (manual swapped). chassis and body has 381k miles on it tho you'd never know! shes fairly clean for a 24 year old, almost 400k mile civic! got her for 600 bucks too!! ive since put her on really basic coils to lower her a bit, soon ill buy real coil overs and set her up right. shes got an AEM intake, and a header from which i have never heard of the company lol. i have an Energy Suspension polyurathane mast bushing kit to install, but that's waiting for coil overs. heres a pic from a few weeks ago when i got her and was adjusting the valve tappets. also, the ECU is chipped but i havent checked it out to see what it has. i got this car from a girl who bought it and had no idea how to own a car.. "my boyfriend says it has bad miles so im a m selling it. i dont know anything about it other than its really old" hahahaha

Hey there!
I'm Gavin, from California but currently in school up in Montana. I've got an 88 CRX that was my parents first car, and am looking to fix it up as much as possible! Don't have any great pictures of the car yet, I'm headed in home in May for the summer to pick it up. Super excited to get into it!

Hello Honda-Tech! My name is Joonho. I'm from Wisconsin and currently drive an EJ8. She was recently B-swapped and 5-speed converted after losing my Teggy in a t-bone accident. Since I have learned so much from the tech forums over the past few years, I finally decided to become a member. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's builds!

Hi all Mat Boonen here from Gisborne New Zealand. Got a couple of bb1 vtec preludes and a eg civic hatch on the way to be a track car. 1 Bb1 donating parts to the eg civic and the other BB1 is being built for local club day events. Interested in all forms of racing and would not say that I have a affinity for any brand. But owned a few Fords nissans, hondas, suzuki, mazda and not much else In my 40 years of car ownership

Hi all, been a licensed technician for 30 plus years and am now a professor of automotive technology. Though not specifically a "Honda" guy, I do own and drive daily a 2006 CRV 5 speed. I've joined this forum because I am always thirsty for new knowledge, and after reading some of the post's on here, it is apparent there are some very knowledgeable guys here. Hopefully I will be able to both contribute and learn while on this forum and I look forward to future discussions.

Re: Member Introductions
Hi all. I bought my 97' d16y8 sol neglected but not beaten up last year. It has 191xxx miles and in need of a lot of long overdue maintenance. What brings me here is my timing belt tension problem that caused me to eat through my new timing belt in a week. Melted my crankshaft sensor, too! I'll make a thread tomorrow.
These are the things I did for her so far:
fuel system clean
fluids
filters
plugs
intake
exhaust manifold- had a crack and o2 sensor bung was stripped completely. New one not shown in pic.
o2 sensor- upstream
timing belt
deleted AC/power steering
valve cover gasket
vtec gasket
Things I need to do:
Figure out the timing belt tension problem! (pm if you have any suggestions/links)
Replace the downstream o2 sensor/crankshaft sensor/cv joints
clean catalytic converter or replace with testpipe
test fuel system thoroughly/replace regulator, etc.
find and destroy aftermarket remote starter
drink a disgusting, full-bodied IPA/wash my sol
Things I want to do:
New exhaust
Turbo
Tear down/rebuild engine/transmission
suspension fix/replace
misc body stuff
paint is in fantastic condition now, so probably just repair/repaint areas.

Hello, my name is Lau, driving above for last 27 years has been a great fun especially after swap in 2.2L H22A engine nine years ago. Like everything, it is ageing and now feeling engine is not so responsive as it used to be, sluggish acceleration so to speak.
