FZR600 Starting problems newbie need help.

FZR600 Starting problems newbie need help.
My FZR600R is not starting up when I press the start button (no sound at all, not even a click. yes, the engine switch is switched to "run").
When I turn the key to on, all I see is the neutral light. When I press the start button in, the red oil light comes on for as long as the button
is pressed, but I check the oil level and it's right in the middle. The battery itself is fine (its brand new and charged)
