Offical k20/k24 swaped insights

Re: Offical k20/k24 swaped insights
Looks like the rear skirts are going to need some heating and bending to clear the tires. Have to wait for a warm day to get enough heat into them for a nice gradual bend.

I don't think it will require much to get the needed clearance.
I was thinking stacking up 3-4 layer of cardboard over the tire in that area and then installing the skirt. Then heating the whole skirt to get a very gentle curve over the whole panel.

I am thinking of running the e7 mrly directly to the main relay to ground it. Our main rellay is grounded all the time and switched power as you said so will this allow the ecm to switch the relay?
Do you have any notes or a diagram how you wired yours Ryan?

Re: Offical k20/k24 swaped insights
You are on the right track.
Correct the 00-04 main relay control is wired to ground and then the ignition switch supplies the +12v to turn on the relay. Just pull the ground off the relay and running it to the ECM won't work as the ignition switch still cuts the +12v side.
The correct way would be to wire it like an 05-06 Insight. +12v constant on one side of the main relay control and the other side goes to the ECM for ground.
I thought about adding a relay just to power the ECM but that also won't work because the EVAP stuff also needs to remained powered for the leak test that is run with the engine off and the ECM still powered.

Duh! I did not even think about pulling from the +12 side of the main relay for the control side.
That looks right. Let me dig up my notes and see where I sent the main relay output.

I have been researching the wiring for a few days now. I hope this is accurate and helps someone else. I have not made any connections yet, still trying to decide if this will work.

I will find my notes and compare.
On the main relay I would disconnect the +12 control side from the ignition switch after jumping to the +12 supply side.

My 00-06 ETM shows that early 01's were different from late 01's in some areas. The CVTs were also very different from the MTs. What do you need? I can snap a couple pictures and post them up.

I was reading the connector backwards, most of the wires I have written out do coincide with what is on my car. Still playing with the wiring but the car does crank!

Got my skirts to fit. Installed them and then shoved two sheets of cardboard between the tire and skirt and let the space heater blow on it for 15-20 minutes to soften up the ABS. Worked mint!

That second relay is the A/T Reverse relay according to picture 51 in my manual, page 201-8.
I did not get a chance to look at mine. Had to do domestic stuffs.
