I want to a h22A into my 96 civic will i have the same reliability as if i left it alone? Or would a B18C1 conversion be more relaiable, by reliable i mean less problems.

yo man, not for nothin, but all cars have problems, and either way, stuff always manages to go wrong, but thats part of the learning process, most likely, either motor will work as good as your stock motor, but both will outperform it by far, after uou get everyhting worked out on either motor, it should run good, but thats if yer qualified, but as far as the GSR or H22 in yer 96, the gsr will probably be more trouble free and more then adequit. good luck

IF the swap is done right.....then what would be so "unreliable" about it? Its a WHOLE prelude Powertrain swapped into a civic....the only thing different is the car around the motor.

I have had my 99 civic with an H22 for about 4-5 months.....its OBD2, and I have had very little problems with it....I only drive bout 30 miles a week, but drive across town on the weekends (about 100 miles) and it has A/c.....and might one day have the P/s back in....its a hybrid with all the comforts of a normal car

But....if I could do it again...I think I would have gone B series (the H has a lot of things that need to be hooked up that really are a pain in the but)

Like the guy above said as long as the swap is done correctly just like anyother swap it will last forever. After all it's still a honda motor Mine has been going strong and have had no problems since the swap approx 6-7 months ago. Although even if I ever had problems the torque and HP would still make it worth it
